These solid oak upstands are made of the same high-quality timber as our oak worktops and are a great way to finish wooden worktop installations. Oak wood will mature and darken gradually while gaining character and patina over time. The natural integrity of this solid hardwood ensures strength and durability, however regular maintenance will help to keep your oak worktops looking beautiful for many years.

Upstands can be cut from the selection of sheet sizes which we provide, we offer a range of sizes so you can make efficient use of the material that will accommodate you best for your project.

Oak material can be purchased untreated or oiled. Wood oil is a natural solution for protecting and enhancing the appearance of wood in one easily applied layer.

Solid oak is a durable material with plenty of charm and will feature staves that naturally vary in colour, this is completely expected and is not a flaw. These upstands will match our oak worktops and are a great alternative to tiling down to the work surface; creating a refined and seamless look.

Upstands also work towards a flawless finish when installing oak worktops, they help to hide the small 5mm expansion gap between the worktop and wall, which is recommended allow for movement in the wood. These upstands are also convenient when working with uneven walls, as they prevent the need for the worktops to be cut down to size and conceal any small gaps that would otherwise become apparent.

The oil treatment that we use if opted for, includes natural ingredients which generate a molecular reaction with the exposed cellulose fibres of the wood, this ensures a consistent finish on your worktop. The surface will be touch dry within minutes, moisture resistant within 48 hours and will be fully cured within 6 days of application. Please avoid wet cleaning during the curing period. You can also decide to order the worktop untreated and finish it yourself with your choice of product.

If you have specific timescales for your project then we will always try to accommodate a delivery date that works best for you. Please keep in mind that during the lead up to Christmas this may be more difficult as it is usual for us to have an extended lead time.
